Technology

Here at Stubblefield Dental, one of our top priorities for our patients is that they feel comfortable and confident about the treatments they receive. Digital technology allows us to design and produce cosmetic treatments such as crowns, veneers, and bridges right in our office. This means that you can wear your new smile the same day you have the work done. Digital technology also allows us to design your replacements on a screen, letting us easily and quickly make changes to their shape, size, and color. Dr. Earl Stubblefield has been customizing computer designed treatments to fit each patient's needs for the past 10 years. With over 19 years experience improving lives through dentistry, you can trust our family at Stubblefield Dental to improve all of your family dental needs. Do you want to improve your smile dramatically? Then call us today!

Digital X-ray

Using the most advanced dental technology is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Stubblefield Dental is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available. We utilize advanced digital x-ray technology. Digital x-rays provide clearer dental photos, expose patients to less radiation, and save time.

Intra-oral camera: A clear vision of your dental health

With the use of an intraoral camera, we can see every aspect of your teeth and mouth with incredible detail, uncovering cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities, stains, gaps, excessive wear and receding gum lines. This is a great tool we use to help our patients become more informed about their dental health. It provides our patients with a clear understanding of their dental condition and allows them to make a more informed decision.

Computer-guided surgery

Computer technology has great advances in the field of implant dentistry. 3D CT scans enable us to evaluate each patient’s anatomy in detail. After we obtain a scan using our in-office scanner, the data is imported into planning software. Significant anatomical landmarks such as your nerves and sinuses can be traced and labeled.

Virtual implant surgery can be done on the patients CT scan. Ideal position and size of implants can be determined and checked for multiple perspectives. After ideal implant positions are determined and checked for multiple perspectives. After ideal implant positions are determined, the dental restorations can be built virtually in the software to ensure the implants are positioned correctly to enable proper aesthetics and functions for future teeth. CAD-CAM technology has enabled a computer to take the plan from our software and fabricate an extremely accurate guide that simply snaps over the patients’ teeth and ensures that implants are placed exactly where we planned on the patients’ CT scan.

There are many benefits to computer-guided surgery, which may include:

  • More accurate implant placement
  • Faster, less invasive techniques
  • Less need for bone grafting or sinus augmentation
  • Safer surgery by avoiding sensitive anatomies such as nerves and blood vessels
  • Ability to plan treatment and perform more complex

If you want to receive the current state of the art dental care then give Stubblefield Dental a call. We strive to provide technical, educational, and support to answer any clinical questions you might have.

CAD/CAM

Dentists can create customized fittings of crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and other dental restorations using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Through the CAD/CAM technology, your dentist can provide you with the most precise restorations possible.

By using CAD/CAM, your dentist is able to create durable, well-fitting, individual or multiple-tooth restorations. CAD/CAM technology also delivers advantages when it comes to office visits. Traditional tooth restorations may take several days and multiple office visits, but with CAD/CAM technology, we are able to perform single-visit tooth restorations! In just one visit you can have a beautiful, healthy smile.

Cone beam CT imaging

What’s better than an x-ray of your teeth? An on-screen, movable 3-D representation of your jaws! By taking a series of x-ray “slices” and stitching the images together with a powerful computer program, Cone Beam CT imaging creates a virtual model of your mouth. It can be used to find disease, plan procedures, and visualize internal structures that formerly wouldn’t have been visible without surgery.

Digital Dental Impressions

Remember biting down on a tray of putty-like material so a model could be made of your teeth? A digital imaging device now makes that unnecessary. Instead, your teeth can be scanned and a series of images are then converted into a 3D model, which can be used to assess a tooth’s condition or fabricate dental restorations.

Laser Cavity Finder: Diagnodent

More and more patients place value on healthy and attractive teeth. We believe that in order to maintain them, the earliest possible care is essential.

DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of decay. Even very small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, which enables you to protect and preserve your natural tooth substance. The DIAGNOdent also differentiates between stains in your teeth and real cavities.

The best part is we can monitor questionable teeth over time. If the readings increase, we fix the situation before it’s too late.

Hi-tech polishing brightener: Cavitron Prophy-Jet

Prophy-Jet is an air-polishing system that uses air, water, and either sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or non-sodium powder to remove extrinsic stain, dental plaque, and soft debris while simultaneously polishing tooth surfaces. The Prophy-Jet is less abrasive than typical cleaning paste.
